Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) is the federally-designated Community Action Agency for the County of Albany, NY. Read about our Agency Mission and our Vision and Guiding Principles.

ACAP is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency. If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to our agency of your time, money, or services, please visit our Donations area, or contact our Administrative Office.


Our agency offers several different services to assist Albany County residents with some fundamental needs.  The warmth of a coat, foods for a meal, furniture to make their place feel more like a home - all very simple, basic needs - are all part of what ACAP does to help break the cycle of poverty and empower our communities within the County of Albany.

Our many family and community programs for Albany County include:

Head StartEarly Learning CenterWeatherization AssistanceFurniture AssistanceFamily and Community DevelopmentHome Energy Assistance Program,  and several other programs, as well as networking, information and referrals to other agencies and organizations.

Our Board of Directors is made up of local community representatives of the private business and low-income sector, and members of local government or their appointees.
